Cargas Pay is an electronic payments facilitator for companies using Cargas Energy. With Cargas Pay, energy companies can access and manage payments data without leaving their fuel delivery system.
Cargas Energy did offer payment integrations in the past. However, payment processing was outsourced to ISOs, or Independent Sales Organizations, and these payments had to travel through an external gateway from a separate third-party entity just to pass muster. This meant payments and related data took an arduous journey across multiple platforms. But because Cargas Pay is embedded directly in Cargas Energy, payments stay accessible in your software environment.
How Does Payment Processing Work with Cargas Pay?
With Cargas Pay, Cargas Energy manages the payment process from start to finish. With just a few clicks, you can navigate to the embedded Cargas Pay Center to manage and reconcile payments, evaluate pre-authorizations and settlement data, and look at transaction fees. Settlement batches are stored in your system, not hidden behind another login.
One of Cargas Pay’s greatest benefits is its batching. To get payments data without embedded payment facilitation tools, users log into their third-party facilitator, download batches, then manually compare those batches to the data in their delivery system. But thanks to Cargas Pay, batch data is now stored in Cargas Energy. That means you can pull all transactions and account data into one easy-to-access and easy-to-read display.
And for customers, Cargas Pay offers convenient and flexible payment options. Drivers and service technicians can process payments in the field using their mobile devices, and the back office can see those transactions in real-time—which means customers enjoy painless payments.
As a payment facilitator, Cargas also assumes the risks and responsibilities of underwriting and onboarding new merchants, transaction monitoring, authorizations, approving and funding daily settlement batches, and managing daily reconciliations for our customers.

How Much Does Cargas Pay Cost?
Cargas Pay’s pricing model is based on a percentage of each transaction plus an additional fixed fee per transaction. We don’t charge for the Automatic Payment Integration, and there are no implementation costs for existing Cargas Energy users to get started with Cargas Pay.
Note that Cargas Pay is only available to Cargas Energy customers. If you are not currently a Cargas Energy customer, you will need to purchase and implement the software before you can make the most of Cargas Pay.
What Is the Cargas Pay Implementation Like?
Implementation will differ depending on whether you currently use Cargas Energy.
If you’re investing in Cargas Energy for the first time, you’ll go through our 12-week implementation, which includes a kickoff, setup, training, and data migration. You can learn more about this process, and everything Cargas Energy has to offer, in our Buyer’s Guide.
If you’re already a Cargas Energy customer, Cargas Pay implementation will be much quicker. This two-week merchant onboarding process migrates your existing customer credit card information and your merchant ID to Cargas Energy. Here’s what it looks like:

Application Process
We’ll collect statements and establish pricing while you complete the initial application paperwork. - 2
Underwriting
Once we’ve reviewed your application, we’ll ensure you’re totally compliant before creating your new account. - 3
System Review and Setup
We’ll go over your current payment processing needs and create a setup that reflects your unique workflows. Note that when you switch to Cargas Pay, you’ll need to contact your existing gateway to transfer tokens. Gateways often charge for this migration, but once the data is brought to Cargas Energy’s vault, it’s available when you need it. - 4
Pre-Go-Live Testing
We’ll update your test site and start processing small transactions as they come through, all to ensure that the software does what you want it to. - 5
Go-Live
The Cargas Pay Center will be fully activated! We’ll continue to monitor transaction flow until you’re happy with the process, and we’ll stick by your side as you continue using the software.
Is Cargas Pay Secure?
